About Conowingo Models

Conowingo Models is located in Conowingo, Maryland, a short distance from the spectacular Norfolk Southern bridge that crosses the Octoraro Creek. The area itself is rich in railroad history. It used to be home to the Octoraro Branch of the Pennsylvania Railroad. This branch brought basic trainees down from Wawa, PA to the Naval Training base at Bainbridge as well as servicing numerous factories and mills in Oxford, PA, Rising Sun, Colora, New Valley and Rowlandsville before linking with the former Columbia and Port Deposit railroad.

Owner Chris Coarse strives to make unusual kits. He pays attention to often neglected areas of buildings, such as roofing structures and foundations. Conowingo kits are designed to encourage creativity and keep costs down. You won't find a ton of castings, etc. in the kits in order to encourage that creativity.

Dig deep into your box of goodies or scour the internet for the perfect part. Better yet, visit your local hobby shop or train show. You never know what you'll find!
